Cyanagen Srl

Cyanagen is a Company based in Bologna, Italy, dedicated to the research, synthesis, development and production of reagents for bioanalytical techniques:
  • Blotting Reagents: Highly sensitive chemiluminescent substrates (Westar) for the detection of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) in Western, Southern, Northern Blotting and ELISA immunoassays.
  • Protein Assay Reagents: QPro and μQPro protein assay kits are formulations based on bicinchoninic acid for the rapid and sensitive detection and quantitation of total protein content. The bicinchoninic acid method is faster and easier than Lowry, with much greater tolerance to interference from non-ionic detergents and buffer.
  • Biotinylation Reagents: Biotinylated reagents are designed to form covalent bonds with common functional groups, in particular amino (-NH2), carboxylic (-COOH), aldehydes (-CHO) and thiols (–SH). Since the binding sites for biotin are buried deep inside avidine and streptavidine spacers improve both the accessibility and reaction rate of biotinylated compounds with respect to avidine and streptavidine, often enhancing the sensitivity of assay systems.
  • Cross Linking Reagents: Cyanagen produces a wide range of high purity homobifunctional cross linking and heterobifunctional cross linking reagents for bioconjugation.
  • Fluorescent Dyes: Fluorescent dyes (CHROMIS) with superior stability and brightness, covering the entire visible and near-infrared spectrum. Applications include proteomics from immunoassays to gel electrophoresis and genomics, such as DNA analysis and sequencing.
  • Protein Labeling Kits: CHROMIS D+A Labeling kit represent the most advanced solution for fast and highly efficient protein labeling. With a wide selection of different fluorescent compounds the CHROMIS Labeling kit series covers the complete range of wavelengths from 400 up to 850 nm, optimizing the procedure for antibodies bioconjugations. All the kits are specifically designed for the fluorescent labeling of 1 mg of antibody.
  • Ruthenium Complexes: The unique properties of functionalized d6 transition metal complexes of Ruthenium, Osmium, Rhenium and Iridium (bright fluorescence, very large Stoke’s shifts, long lived excited states, multiple redox states, extraordinary stability) make them very suitable for the development of immuno and DNA assays relying on time resolved fluorescence, fluorescence polarization and electrochemiluminescence (ECL).

Cyanagen also offers synthesis and consulting on commission for the following fields:

  • Antibody conjugated with biotin and fluorophores;
  • Modification and functionalization of substrates both chemical and biological;
  • Customized Research Programs and Product Development.
